WET AND WINDY WEEKEND AT KNOCKHILL | KNOCKHILL 8-9 AUGUST

18 Aug 2026

A wet and windy weekend at knockhill made for some great BTCC and MINI Challenge UK racing…

Last weekend, the NAPA Racing UK team headed north of the border for our annual Knockhill trip. We once again supported Race Against Dementia with several activities and fundraising initiatives, whilst also extending our on-track lead in the BTCC Drivers’, Teams and Manufacturers Championships!

Our weekend began with the launch of our one-off Knockhill livery, alongside our special edition race suits and fan-designed helmets. The six race suits and helmets, worn by the drivers across the entire weekend, alongside other signed and exclusive items are now up for auction with all proceeds going directly to Race Against Dementia. Please visit the online site here to browse and place your bids.

With activations including limited edition posters, a fan memory wall, spin the wheel, VIP auctions and more, the NAPA Racing UK team were able to raise an impressive amount of money, with donations and fundraising still ongoing.

On track, it was mixed results for the six tartan-clad drivers across the British Touring Car and MINI Challenge UK championships, with cold and wet conditions across the weekend.

Following their testing earlier in the week and practice sessions on Friday, Joe Tanner and Cam Richardson took on a challenging Qualifying leading to a P13 and P15 start. Saturday afternoon Race 1 also proved difficult for the pair, with Tanner dropping back to P15, but Richardson climbing his way to P9 to close out the day.

Across the paddock, the BTCC drivers had an equally tough Saturday, with Qualifying seeing all four drivers starting outside the Top 10 for the Race to Pole. However, the Race to Pole also proved difficult for the four, with Dan Cammish leading the group in P10, Sutton behind in P11, Selby with a P17 finish and Osborne in P18.

Sunday rolled around and the cold and clouds turned to a heavy downpouring of rain meaning BTCC’s Race 1 was set to be interesting! As the drivers fought their way through the pack, race control issued Dan Cammish a 10s penalty for a false start unfortunately dropping him to the back of the grid in P18. Meanwhile, Sam Osborne had gotten himself into the Top 10 and Selby was also able to move himself into the points-scoring positions, finishing P14. Sutton took advantage of the Boost being less powerful in the wet, and moved himself up the field into P4.

The success didn’t stop there, as Race 2 saw all four drivers in the points with Ash taking his 54th Race Win. This equals him with Gordon Shedden as the driver with the most wins on the current grid. On the Reverse Grid Draw, Sutton pulled the number 12, putting our other three into 2nd, 3rd and 4th for the final race.

With the sun finally shining, Race 3 saw Cammish take his 6th podium of the season, closing his points gap to Ingram in the championship. With the medium tyre on, Sutton was able to hold position in P12 but make no progress. Selby nursed damage throughout the race which put him back to P13, and Osborne unfortunately found himself in the barriers after contact with Dexter Patterson.

Back to our MINI Challenge drivers, it was yet more mixed results, with the home hero struggling across the Sunday races too. In the morning’s damp Race 2, Cam Richardson held onto his P9 position, meanwhile Joe Tanner gambled on the slick tyre which unfortunately dropped him back to P16. Then disaster struck for Joe, who had to come into the pits in Race 3 and retire the car following an issue that meant he couldn’t carry on. Cam remained consistent with another P9 to finish off the weekend moving him to P11 in the championship with Tanner behind in P12.

Championship standings for our BTCC drivers remain strong as we continue to lead the Team and Manufacturers Championships. Sutton sits top of the standings with a 81-point lead over Ingram, while Cammish is just 13 points behind in 3rd. In the Jack Sears standings, Sam Osborne sits in 3rd and Lewis Selby in 4th, 81 points behind James Dorlin in 2nd.

Our BTCC drivers return to track next weekend at Donington Park (22nd-23rd August), however our MINI drivers have yet another long break before their next race at Silverstone (26th-27th September).
